Mint infusion has a calming effect due to essential oils (they give the recognizable smell of menthol and a feeling of freshness), flavonoids, carotenoids and other biologically active substances. Mint can improve the patient’s condition with gastrointestinal disorders, relieve vomiting. This effect is enhanced by the local irritating effect of mint on the mucous membranes (a feeling of “freezing”).
